I am a fashion sewer. Although I make other things, I enjoy sewing clothing the most.
I started this blog to describe my adventures in making the wedding dress for my niece, Jacquelyn. The wedding was in July 2009. I am now posting my general sewing & quilting projects.
I have been sewing most of my life. I don’t really remember learning how to sew. When I was a child, my mother made most of my clothing. I remember following her around the cutting table when I was too young to go to school. Sometimes in high school, I would make myself clothing, but usually I was too just too busy to bother. I started sewing in earnest after I got married. I was dissatisfied with the fit of purchased clothing as well as the choices. By the time I was in my mid-to-late 20’s I was making most of my clothing. Still, to this day, the items I make myself I wear for years. The things I purchase tend to be thrown out within 2 years because they shrink or just get uncomfortable.
I also crochet. You can find me on Ravelry.com under Sewbobbi.
Currently, I live in Conway, SC. I grew up in Walpole, MA. In my mid-20’s I moved to Arizona and lived there for 20 years, just outside Phoenix. I moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 2013.
I live with my husband of 30+ years.
