I have started fitting the pattern to Jac’s form. I traced the pattern pieces to paper and then pinned it together at the seams. I am working some adjustments at the side seams. Here is the start.
Jac’s dress form is all done and ready to be used. I put the duct tape form over an existing dress form and added fiberfill where needed. Now I have an exact duplicate of Jac to work with.
The next step was to go through the patterns I have and the patterns for sale to select the ones that would work with both Jac’s size and design. The sizing on patterns works differently than what you purchase in the store. Many designers change their sizes to run big because it makes customer’s happy to buy a smaller size. In the stores, Jac was trying on sizes 6 and 8. From the patterns I am working with sizes 10 and 12. When making your own clothes, don’t worry about the number on the pattern because you can always sew in any size you want!
The next step will be to paper fit the pattern to the dress form.
